Successful start to the art bazaar at E.ON - Around 1,400 works of art sold out in just a few hours

The art bazaar with the public sale of around 1,400 works of art in the E.ON headquarters started on Friday afternoon with great visitor interest and was already largely sold out by the evening. Almost all the works, including oil paintings, drawings, copper engravings, photographs, posters and sculptures, were purchased by hundreds of visitors and employees. Due to the large crowds, there were already long queues on the first day.

"We were aware that we were offering the people of Essen something very special with this event, but we didn't expect such a huge rush. The bazaar is a complete success, which we are very pleased about, but at the same time we hope for the understanding of those who are unfortunately unable to attend," says Dorothee von Posodawsky-Wehner, Head of the E.ON Art Collection. The art bazaar is practically sold out. Interested parties will only find a very limited selection and no longer need to make their way to the Art Bazaar at E.ON on Brüsseler Platz in Essen.
The public expert "Art Talk" on the subject of selling art will continue to take place for registered guests on Sunday, January 14 at 12 noon.

The private art tour with CEO Dr. Leonhard Birnbaum for registered WAZ readers on January 17 will also take place.
E.ON will donate the total amount of the proceeds from the Art Bazaar to charity. Visitors voted on the spot while shopping to decide which Essen institutions should receive the donations. The decisions were made in favor of the child protection house of the Essen Child Protection Association and the Essen food banks. The amount will be announced in the next few days.
