DFD Festival enters the second round with runway and actions

Thinking fashion forward - that is the goal of the DFD Festival Edition, on the occasion of the Düsseldorf Fashion Days. Under the DFD, the Düsseldorf Economic Development Corporation will once again launch a comprehensive location initiative on July 23, 2022, demonstrating strong synergies between brands, retailers and visitors who appreciate the fashion feeling in Düsseldorf.

On the occasion of the second DFD Festival, various retailers will present the latest seasonal trends for the first time in spectacular settings on a 12-meter-long runway. In the middle of the shopping miles Königsallee, Breite Straße and Heinrich-Heine-Allee, models will walk down the catwalk on Saturday, July 23, 2022 and present the highlights of various premium fashion brands. More than 60 neighboring retailers and restaurateurs will attract shoppers with live DJ sets, discount promotions and various in-store activities.

The traditional order is accompanied by fashion-centered activities in the city center

The DFD Festival is designed to enable retailers to become a communicative part of Düsseldorf Fashion Days with targeted events and promotions and thus make the city's fashion competence an experience. "Düsseldorf is a city of culture, indulgence, lifestyle and, of course, fashion. Highly frequented order days in winter and summer offer the national and international audience a concentrated order business with numerous showrooms and two important trade fairs. With the DFD Festival, we will continue to publicly position Düsseldorf strongly as Germany's fashion capital. Through inner-city synergies around Königsallee, the DFD Festival creates an individualized, emotionalized shopping experience and added value for retailers and visitors alike," says Dr. Michael Rauterkus, Head of Economic Affairs at the state capital of Düsseldorf. "We are very excited to host shoppers and the national media scene and to invite them to Germany's largest industry festival - the Fashion Net Get Together - at the Rheinterrassen on July 24, 2022."

"Düsseldorf is and remains a strong fashion location: Already last summer, the fashion business as well as cross-industryal formats at the DFD Festival were perfectly combined. In close cooperation with the city, Fashion Net also creates national relevance through formats such as the DFD Festival Edition, the Fashion Net Get Together as well as permanent digital services around the order," adds Angelika Firnrohr, Managing Director of Fashion Net Düsseldorf. The association brings together the diverse interests of the industry throughout the year, especially at the DFD, in the interest of positive location development. The trade public is offered established networking formats at Karl-Arnold-Platz as well as shuttle trips to all showrooms and the Supreme Women&Men and Fashn Rooms trade fairs.

"This is where fashion business is done" - Industry representatives also comment positively on Düsseldorf Fashion Days and Düsseldorf as an order location

"The unique retail structure, the large showroom density and the trade fair history have made Düsseldorf the fashion location in Germany for decades. Marc Cain is present in Düsseldorf with its own Marc Cain Store at the KÖ and with the largest showroom in Hall 30. Both our loyal and large regular customers of the store and our international retail partners appreciate and love Düsseldorf. This is where fashion business is done.

Of course, we support all activities that reinforce fashion and lifestyle in this city and will continue to do so in the future," says Dirk Büscher, Managing Director Marc Cain.

"Düsseldorf stands for: Short distances, an excellent hotel and restaurant selection, and all important brands in one place. As a buyer, this is the best place for me to reach the industry and showrooms," says Joachim Klüner, Senior Buyer Womenswear, Hagemeyer, who writes his orders in the state capital 80 days a year.

Wiebke Schilbock, Managing Partner Delicate Love, adds: "For us as a fashion brand, the Düsseldorf Fashion Days are the most important order days of the year and offer, with the DFD Festival Edition, a further incentive for buyers to come to the city. Especially during this highly frequented week in the order business, I appreciate the great team spirit in the industry - that is also what makes Düsseldorf special.

Verena Demme, Head of Marketing Baldessarini also confirms the positive view of the Düsseldorf Fashion Days: "The city has a super infrastructure and connections to all countries and every renowned brand has at least one showroom in Düsseldorf, so that several brands can be sighted during one visit. That's exactly why the DFD are extremely important for us as a brand."
