Germany's first DOUGLAS Café: Personalised beauty experiences & brand inspiration in the new pop-up concept in Düsseldorf

Since 9 May, DOUGLAS has been inviting beauty fans and interested parties to its newly opened DOUGLAS Café at Ackerstraße 151 in Düsseldorf – a pop-up concept that is unique in Germany.  With this innovative format, the leading omnichannel provider has created a versatile experience space for brands, communities and local partnerships –
right in the heart of Flingern.

The DOUGLAS Café was officially opened on 8 May as part of an exclusive pre-opening event attended by international guests and prominent visitors, including entrepreneur Khloé Kardashian. In June, Valentino Beauty took over the on-site implementation with its Coffee & Flowers fragrance installation. Another highlight will follow in August: Charlotte Tilbury will transform the pop-up store into an immersive beauty world under the motto ‘Unreal Summer’.

New brand understanding

The DOUGLAS Café is more than a classic pop-up store: it is a hybrid space where beauty, enjoyment and community come together in a new way. As a mono- or multi-brand showcase,
the monthly changing designs offer visitors emotional, interactive experiences. The overarching concept also changes regularly to create new ideas and themes throughout the year.
The DOUGLAS Café is a unique space that combines beauty, enjoyment and community in a new way.

„Unreal Summer“ with Charlotte Tilbury

In August, the DOUGLAS pop-up store will be dedicated to make-up icon Charlotte Tilbury. Under the motto ‘Unreal Summer,’ visitors will discover a specially curated make-up world
with a select range of products, including the new Unreal Healthy Glow Blush Sticks and Unreal Lips Healthy Glow Nectar lip oil, numerous testing opportunities, a photo booth
and special promotional events. As an exclusive goodie, ice lollies in summery flavours such as watermelon, cherry, fig, coconut, peach and strawberry will be offered free of charge
– a refreshing addition to the beauty experience.

On Saturdays, guests can look forward to a special extra: the first twenty visitors will receive an exclusive Charlotte Tilbury goodie bag, and a professional make-up artist will be on hand to provide individual touch-ups and personal tips on the products. In addition to the Charlotte Tilbury pop-up store, the brand will also be present at the London Fashion Week Men's show with a pop-up store at the Victoria and Albert Museum. The pop-up store will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, 20th, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, 21st.

The Charlotte Tilbury pop-up month kicked off on 1 August 2025 with an exclusive opening event. Since 2 August, the experience has been open to all visitors from Thursday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Düsseldorf as a creative starting point

With the new café, DOUGLAS is deliberately emphasising its close connection to the city. ‘Our company headquarters are located in Düsseldorf, which is why we are always keen to launch community-oriented concepts here and, at the same time, work with local restaurants and entrepreneurs to create new spaces for our customers to enjoy,’ explains Charlotte Maria Rizza, Head of Media, PR & Events at DOUGLAS.
