KÖ Galerie wins Iconic Award in the category ‘Communication’
The KÖ Gallery in Düsseldorf has been awarded the Iconic Award in the ‘Communication’ category. With this internationally renowned prize, the German Design Council annually honours outstanding projects in the fields of architecture, interior design, product and brand communication.
The KÖ Galerie impressed the jury with a communication strategy that highlights the transformation from a traditional shopping centre to a modern, urban meeting place. The focus is on the reorientation of social media channels, including the launch of the TikTok channel in January as the first shopping centre in Düsseldorf on this platform, as well as the targeted addressing of a younger target group. The digital communication is complemented by collaborations with high-reach partners and temporary uses on site: temporary exhibitions such as those by Düsseldorf photographer Wolfgang Sohn or pop-up concepts such as the recent arrival of furniture start-up Kiyo create new experiences in the city centre and strengthen the cultural perception of the gallery.
This award is a special confirmation for us: it shows that we have succeeded in repositioning the KÖ Galerie. We are particularly pleased that the strategy is not only visible digitally, but also noticeable on site. This makes us proud and spurs us on to continue consistently along this path," says Alexander Balzer, Centre Manager of the KÖ Galerie.
