Thank you Düsseldorf! With an eventful anniversary weekend on September 1 and 2, Breuninger Düsseldorf, together with the architectural icon Kö-Bogen, is saying thank you for ten years of fashion and lifestyle on the Rhine. At the heart of the event are eight spectacularly staged fashion shows featuring the current fall/winter collections of top-class premium and luxury brands. In addition to the fashion shows, visitors can expect other highlights such as exclusive shopping promotions, late-night shopping until 10 p.m., musical and artistic live acts, and the opportunity to experience the unique reinterpretation of the golden Breuni bear by Steffen Mumm. The anniversary weekend will be hosted by Jana Azizi. Furthermore, the Influencer:innen Alexandra Lapp, Lisa Hahnbück and Dennis Boeer as well as presenter Rabea Schif and model Anna Hiltrop, among others, are expected.
The reopening of the first floor in spring 2023 will be followed by the next highlight in the "House of Beautiful Things" with its 10th anniversary. Since 2013, Breuninger has positioned and established itself in Düsseldorf with a unique mix of fashion & lifestyle, entertainment, gastronomy and services. Personal advice, a curated range of premium and luxury brands, and the seamless dovetailing of online-offline services have been delighting Rhinelanders for a decade now.
"We are very pleased to have the opportunity with this anniversary weekend to thank the Düsseldorfer:innen for the great past decade and to celebrate together with them. The annual Season Opening in September will be our fourth event. On the occasion of the anniversary, however, we have decided this year to make it even bigger and more spectacular. More extravagant staging of the fashion shows, a more impressive catwalk, a local artist collaboration with Steffen Mumm and much more. For a decade, our house has specialized in presenting beautiful things in the premium and luxury segment in a warm and accessible ambience. And that's exactly what visitors:inside the event can expect," explains Andreas Rebbelmund, Managing Director Breuninger Düsseldorf.
"The Kö-Bogen is and will remain an imposing setting all year round, combining nature and urbanity in the heart of Düsseldorf. The architectural ensemble of the Kö-Bogen provides the perfect backdrop especially for extravagant events such as the Breuninger Fashion Shows," says Andreas Stolz, Head of Asset Management NRW, Art-Invest Real Estate.
To mark the anniversary weekend, VOGUE will be hosting an exciting talk on the latest fall/winter trends between Kerstin Weng, Editor-in-Chief of VOGUE Germany, and Johannes Rosenbaum, Buying Director Breuninger, on Saturday at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. in the basement.
Surrounded by the curved facades of the Kö Bogen designed by New York star architect Daniel Libeskind, 32 models from the fashion and lifestyle company will present the latest designer creations for fall-winter 2023 on a 228-meter-long open-air catwalk. This year, the catwalk behind the bridge was extended by 35 meters, creating a total catwalk length on the water of 112 meters.
To mark the anniversary, artist Steffen Mumm is painting the iconic Breuni Bear, the mascot of the fashion and lifestyle company Breuninger, which has been around since 1952. The Düsseldorf-based artist is known for his eye-catching style, which features a unique combination of graffiti, calligraphy and illustration, harmoniously combining attention to detail and intuition. Steffen Mumm based his design on Breuninger's anniversary logo, picking up on Düsseldorf's city colors and the traditional Bergischer Löwen.
