The first German flagship store of the hip fragrance brand BYREDO opened on Alte Schönhauser Straße in mid-September. The Berlin branch of the Düsseldorf-based company Schwitzke Project acted as general contractor for the conversion of the approx. 150 m² store in Berlin-Mitte.
Schwitzke Project had to divide the unusually long construction time of 15 weeks into several phases: First, deconstruction and demolition work was carried out, which included shortening a stairwell wall. The renovation work then began, including the installation of new drywall and a free-standing room divider wall, as well as the flooring work, which included the installation of both carpets and terrazzo tiles.
Schwitzke Projekt's range of services also included the renewal of the electrical installations: in addition to the usual basic installations, an atmospheric LED lighting system with DALI control was installed. The installation of security cameras and an alarm system completed the conversion and renovation phase. The store finally took on its current form with the assembly of furniture specially delivered from Sweden. The new flagship store was completed in mid-September.
"It smells better in Berlin now! We are delighted to have been involved in the realization of the first BYREDO flagship store in Germany as general contractor," says Karl-Heinz Schwoll, Managing Director of Schwitzke Project. "Even though it was a rather small project for us, precision was particularly important here. Our many years of experience with international brands helped us a lot in the process. Many thanks to BYREDO for the pleasant and uncomplicated collaboration on this very special, fine project."
