Spotlight on Frankfurt: bkp Opens New Office with Isabell Battenfeld at the Helm
bkp, an interdisciplinary architecture, interior design, and consulting firm based in Düsseldorf, is expanding its presence and opening a new office in Frankfurt. The office will be led by Isabell Battenfeld, an architect (M.Sc.) and sustainability coordinator who has been with the company since May 2025.
With its expansion into Frankfurt, bkp is consistently continuing its growth trajectory and thereby strengthening its ties to the Rhine-Main region. The new location opens up the opportunity to support clients on an even more regional level in the future and to further develop projects in an economically dynamic environment. At the same time, bkp aims to be present on the ground as a trusted partner and to use the physical space to help people work better than they do today.
Isabell Battenfeld brings more than ten years of experience in the conception, planning, and implementation of architectural projects, as well as in establishing and managing her own firms. Before joining bkp, she founded and led her own firm, ISABELL BATTENFELD ARCHITECTS, in Cologne and Marburg, where she carried out projects in all phases of the design process in the private, commercial, and public sectors.
She completed her architecture degree at TU Darmstadt and RWTH Aachen. She was also active as a curator, including through the lecture series “Architektur im Aufbruch,” which focused on radically sustainable, space- and resource-efficient architecture as well as affordable housing.
“With Isabell Battenfeld, we are gaining an architect with an entrepreneurial mindset, strategic foresight, and design expertise. She brings exactly the experience we need to establish our new office in Frankfurt,” says Heiner Kolde, CEO of bkp.
Isabell Battenfeld adds: “I am very much looking forward to establishing the new office in Frankfurt together with bkp and developing sustainable, forward-looking projects in this dynamic region.”
